Texas’ 42nd Hooters is now open on Lake Ray Hubbard. The 7,000 square foot restaurant looks out onto the waters, with one of its two bars situated on a large 2,000 square foot patio.
For the broken-hearted revenge fantasists, Hooters “Shred Your Ex” campaign allows you to bring in a picture of your former lover to shred for a free 10-count order of wings.
Hooters is offering free wings for those who buy 10 wings.
A #ShredYourEx promotion gives Hooters diners 10 free boneless wings with the purchase of 10 wings on Feb. 14. To earn your bonus wings, you must bring a photo of your ex into Hooters or take an online quiz and receive a digital coupon.
Restaurants are already preparing for the influx in demand. According to a rep, Hooters of America plans to order an additional 22,000 wings per location to prepare for the game-day demand — that’s more than 7 million wings in total it’s preparing to serve on Sunday.
Hooters knows when people think wings they think “let’s go overboard.” The food chain’s deal: Order a party pack of wings for the big game and receive $5 off “a future” purchase of $15 or more.
The same goes at Hooters, which sells more than 2 million wings across its more than 300 U.S. locations on Super Bowl Sunday, mostly for takeout orders, said Hooters Chief Marketing Officer Carl Sweat. That’s 22,000 extra wings per restaurant (or three to four times Hooters’ average Sunday sales) and another 20 gallons of blue cheese sauce compared to a normal day.
The new Hooters restaurant opened this week on Shrewsbury’s stretch of Rte. 9, in the former Chili’s building.
